Two Old Familiar Songs

In The Name of Jesus
In the name of Jesus,
In the name of Jesus
We have the victory,
In the name of Jesus,
In the name of Jesus
Demons will have to flee,
When we stand on the name of Jesus
Tell me who can stand before,
In the mighty name of Jesus,
We have the victory.

Standing on Holy Ground
Written by- Geron Davis
When I walked through the doors,
I sensed His presence,
and I knew this was a place where love abounds.
For this is a temple
the God we love abides here,
and we are standing in His presence on holy ground.

Chorus:
We are standing on holy ground,
and I know that there are angels all around.
Let us praise Jesus now,
we are standing in His presence on holy ground.

Verse 2:
In His presence I know there is
joy beyond all measure,
and at His feet,
sweet peace of mind can still be found.
For when we have a need,
He is still the answer,
reach out and claim it
for we are standing on holy ground.

John 14:12-14
If we have faith, we will do what Christ did here on earth and even greater things, because He goes to the Father.  Whatever we ask in Jesus' name, so the Father is glorified through Jesus, you may ask for ANYTHING in Jesus name and it will be done.

Thumped in the Head

Funny...I just told someone the other day, I wish God would just push me through that door He wants me to go through or else put a flashing neon sign over it that says, "enter here my child."  But He is such a gentleman...such a gentleman.  And I bet He thinks, "I can't win with this one."  Because last night He actually did thump me in the head and answer a question for me.  But He knows me so well...I have to dissect it, turn it over and upside down, then test it out one more time.  So much trouble I go through when if I would only learn to listen to Him and trust...it would have saved me $30.  I think I got it this time Lord.  I think. I'm glad He is a stubborn God and doesn't give up on us easily.  One day I will make Him proud.  He is so gracious and loving to teach me.

Update:  I got it...I got it!!  Another thump last night woke me up....a vision of a page from a book.  It was my Bible study "Before You Say Amen" page 48..."on Holy Ground".  Thank you, Lord.

SO Hidden in Christ

Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 10:56pm

A FB friend posted this…
"A woman's heart should be SO hidden in Christ that a man should have to seek Him first to find her." Stolen from Robin C. Smith, stolen from  Ashley Landreth. "Powerful words."

WOW...so true.  I had planned to chill out on FB, but this opened up a can of worms or maybe God’s plan…my heart has been so heavy on this subject. Women are lonely and want a man just as God intended for them to want a man.  But the real man, women want is the Prince Charming, the Romeo...that only exists with our good and perfect Heavenly Father.  And the only way earthly man can compete is by learning to love like our Heavenly Father loves.

A man's heart should be SO hidden in Christ that a mere beautiful woman does not turn his head from God causing him to miss out on the perfect gift(s) God has in store for him (1 Cor. 11:9) – one gift being that woman hidden in Christ, his soul mate, his partner in everything, the woman God intended to encourage him and lift him up in prayer and support him (that missing rib in his side…not just any rib…his original one, that perfect fitting rib that doesn’t rub or agitate, it fits like a glove).   And he takes care of that rib, babies it, protects it, would never do anything to disrespect it and loves it as himself.

I believe that is why so many marriages end in divorce…even Christian marriages.   Women can be deceived even by a snake into wanting more…Eve was in the garden  (LOL…you know how women always want more…the apple…more knowledge…more stuff).  And men can be talked into anything by a pretty woman…Adam was in the garden.

Do not lose heart though, God made a way even when our choices are not His choices and we miss out on that perfect gift from God.  He can work miracles with the choices we have made if we will only look to Him for our help…but don’t think it will be easy…but it will be worth it .

Where are you, men of courage?
You were made for so much more
Let the pounding of our hearts cry
We will serve the Lord

We were made to be courageous
And we're taking back the fight
We were made to be courageous
And it starts with us tonight

The only way we'll ever stand
Is on our knees with lifted hands
Make us courageous
Lord, make us courageous

This is our resolution
Our answer to the call
We will love our wives and children
We refuse to let them fall

We will reignite the passion
That we buried deep inside
May the watchers become warriors
Let the men of God arise

God I pray that the seeds we have planted in our sons (and I wish we had planted more), God I pray that you take those seeds, love on them, nourish them,  and protect them so they grow and develop into the men  of courage that You would have them to be, always looking to Christ as their head (1 Cor. 11:3) so they are blessed with your good and perfect gifts, even if she has two heads and a rat’s tail, even if all looks dim,… they know without a doubt that God is GOOD and God is GREAT.   Our sons are stubborn like me, they can debate (argue) with the best debater…Mr. Rhodes (muah!), and they have a  wonderful  sense of humor (probably more of a “weird” sense of humor since taken from me and Mr. Rhodes), but all these traits can be good things from God when used in moderation…I love you Lord and thank You for my family and the wonderful work You are doing.

Let Me Pray More

I know God does not answer revenge prayers, but listen to this prayer of Nehemiah 4:4  Hear, O our God, how we are despised! Return their reproach on their own heads and give them up for plunder in a land of captivity.  5 Do not forgive their iniquity and let not their sin be blotted out before You, for they have demoralized the builders.

http://www.raystedman.org/old-testament/nehemiah/dont-back-down--build-up

Nehemiah regards this attack as an insult against God himself. Note that he does not argue back, nor does he retaliate. He does not blister these men with angry rebuttal. He simply responds by praying. It reminds us of Peter's words about Jesus: "When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate. When he suffered, he made no threats," (1 Peter 2:23 NIV). This is a helpful picture of how to handle that kind of attack.

Thank you God, for leading me to the "Before You Say "Amen"" Bible study.  You always know just what I need.

I had orininally planned to go to two church services this morning, but not the two that God directed me to. Like always, He knows best. Both services were about prayer. First sermon - In the beginning there was God. And even if He did ...not create my mess, He was still there. Second sermon - "The Squeaky Wheel" - Luke 18 Persistance rewarded...6 And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7 And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8 I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

Control My Tongue (or/and Type)

Posted to FB on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 9:22pm

Ha, I bought a book for my sons called "God Guy"...turns out it was just what I needed to read...LMBO. "A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be KIND TO EVERYONE, be able to teach, and be patient with DIFFICULT people" (Michael DiMarco).

I wanted to cuss that person out, but James 3 tells us "9 With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. 10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. 11 Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?"

Well, slap my hands and shut my mouth!  Calm down...I said I WANTED to cuss that person out who trying to be funny or cute or build them self up (only God knows their reason), said something about one of my family members that didn't sit well with me....nothing really terrible...but just a cutting remark...and it cut me deep because it was about someone I love dearly.  And this happen right after I came from church praising God and thanking Him for how good He has been to me. And to top it all off, the person that said this cutting remark is suppose to love God as well...imagine that!

I knew I wouldn't cuss this person out, 1. because I don't do that and 2. because someone else I love dearly loves the person who said the cutting remark.  Hope you followed that ;-)  And I probably should not have taken the stab I took at this person in an email...it was a truthful statement written as a sweet, caring question with an implied..."you Jack Ass" behind it  =D   To tell the truth, it did make me fell better for a bit. Oh, well so I'm human. Think I actually took a second stab up above before (only God knows their reason). Oops, but the truth again!

But see what really happen was the devil was trying to get my eyes off the precious time I had spent with God that morning.  Trying to steal my blessing. And he tried to hamper my witness with others throughout the rest of my day. Guess he succeeded to a small degree, but as Oswald Chambers said..."If through a broken heart God can bring His purposes to pass in the world, then thank Him for breaking your heart."

Even Paul Thorn is talking about this very subject today…"the only time you should give your opinion is when someone asks for it. when I get mad I have such a hard time keeping my big mouth shut. I want to learn how to remain silent unless someone asks me what I think. my father in law is REALLY good at restraining his tongue around fools, and he never looses his cool, I want to be like him. how about you?"

Guess point being...I need to tell the truth, say it with love in my heart, and only give my opinion when asked.   You know what that means…you might want to delete me from FB…LOL…because it does say, “What’s on your mind?”

Strange Thought This Morning...

Monday, August 29, 2011 at 11:03am
(again you say...LOL)  do the things we build for God look like those little projects of our children in grade school to Him?  I went to a different church for the first time this past Sunday.  Taking the Dave Ramsey "Financial Freedom" class there (that is another funny). The church was beautiful....stone, granite, decorative, artistic detail, etc...so much so I took a picture.  Well, this morning I started to wonder if as beautiful as that church looked in my eyes, I wondered if in God's eyes it looks like those precious little pieces of art work done by our children in grade school.  As our children grow, their art work improves (we hope) and becomes more sophisicated, and usually more valuable to others.  They may build beautiful buildings, paint Mona Lisa's, win an Oscar, but which is more precious in the parents eyes? I know...I'm strange...but, I don't think I could choose one more precious over another from the grade school project to the more sophisicated one.  Yes, I could choose one more "valuable" in man's eyes, but to the parent...one more precious??? really, could you choose???
And to think of the all the beautiful things in this world, yet they look like precious attempts at the perfection of what God has in store for us...His plan.
PS.  any of my minister FB friends feel free to expand on this into whatever message God gives you.  Because I am not schooled in theology...I only know one thing like Paul...God is God, came to earth, died and lives again!...(ok maybe that is 3 things..I can count..where is spell check on FB?)...and anything I write here I pray God interpretets it into your heart the way He would have you read it and I am only the funnel for His glory....because..."He lifted me out of the grave and spared me from going down into the pit."

"...and everywhere that I may be, you, God, are present there."
Works in progress! I love those boys...young men now...and my husband for the way he loves our sons.

LMBO...ok, I just put this into MS Word and found out I misspelled "sophisticated" and "interprets". Needless to say I am not "sophisticated" and I'm leaving the "interprets" up to God...LMBO.

"Be still for a while and praise God for His favor"

Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 2:18pm

Don't know about you, but I needed these words...."Be still for a while and praise God for His favor"...Thank you Lord!

Jeremiah 29:11    Dear Woman of God, Be still for a while and praise God for His favor, His grace and His awesomeness.  God is able to do the impossible and is always near. He loves us unconditionally.  Together, let's get 1000 ladies to praise Him with one voice in this next hour.   Please forward this to every woman you want God to bless. Let's all say this prayer during this hour: Dear God, This is my friend  whom I love and this is my prayer for her.  Help her live her life to the fullest.  Please promote her and cause her to excel above her expectations.  Help her to shine in the darkest places where it is impossible to love.  Protect her at all times, lift her up when she needs You the most, and let her know when she walks with You, she will always be safe. Amen!

God Hears Us When We qara

Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 6:56am

"Regardless of reason, GOD HEARS US WHEN WE CRY.  Whether from the curses we lay upon ourselves or from our own self-imposed prisons, GOD HEARS US WHEN WE CRY!  Whether suffering at the hands of another or because of our own poor choices, GOD HEARS US WHEN WE CRY!  Whether in anxiety or in anger, GOD HEARS US WHEN WE CRY!" - The Divine Pursuit A Study of Jonah by Nicole Unice

Joel 2:32  Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Whether we "cry" or whisper, as long as we call on the Lord, He hears us.
But why wait until the last minute and miss out on all the blessings God has for you?

Belated Birthday Celebration

Posted on FB Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at 7:08am

Here is a birthday card I received:

50 Today the age Fifty will be redefined by someone who truly is one of a kind...
Not "over the hill," but "on top of the mountain" -
That kind of youth doesn't come from a fountain,
But flows from a heart
that is caring and giving,
Dreams that are dared,
a passion for living -
From tears and laughter
with no room for regrets...
And a smile that says,
"You ain't seen nothin' yet!"

I am on top of the mountain...and like with Elijah at Horeb, God is passing by.  Thank you Lord for your gentle whisper.

Joy Will Replace Sorrow

Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 8:53am

Love this from Jeremiah 31:19
After I strayed, I repented; after I came to understand, I beat my breast, I was ashamed and humiliated because I bore the disgrace of my youth. Ha...so I'm a bit slow ;-)

With restoration comes the promises of:
  1. rest
  2. rebuilding
  3. protection
  4. bounty
  5. joy
  6. comfort
  7. rewards
  8. filled with the Lord's bounty
  9. everlasting love
  10. a heart that yearns for me
  11. a new thing on earth
  12. and so much more...Psalms 16:11 "eternal pleasures" (lol sorry had to throw that one in)
But I'm no fool.  I pray many be restored, but I especially want these blessings for all my family.  Thank you God.

I Have To Testify...

on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 11:36pm

…not at all that I am anything, but my God is EVERYTHING!!  The devil has been on my azzzz for two years (yes, I typed azzzz).   Some will say I do this because my world was collapsing, but the devil knows and I had just told the devil…”God was going to win this battle with me in the middle.”  See…the devil knew my weakness and saw the prime time to attack.  I almost settled for less than what God has to offer. I’m an easy hoodwink candidate, because I believe there is good in all.  I let the devil tell me a lie and I WANTED the lie the devil was telling me.  Yet, God in His grace was with me all the time…He had my back.  God would have taken the lead if I had only allowed Him.  Keep your eyes on God and not on man no matter how long the battle.  Don’t let the devil blind you to God’s supernatural love.  God’s love is awesome…you should see the way He loves you and me a sinner.

Be careful when you ask God for something.  He just may give it to you.
See…I am not perfect…God is still working on me.  A beautiful Christian lady I knew said many times…“If it takes the head off my shoulders, I mean to make it home.”  Please pray it doesn’t take that for me to make it into Heaven.

I wish for all my Face Book family and “game” players nothing, but to know the agápe love of the Trinity: God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  It is only by the grace of God any of us make it to Heaven.  Please don’t let the devil hoodwink you.
